The third day of spring ...

And Auntie Nature has got to work on what, a week or two ago, was a sad and soggy Gerolstein. She has a lot more to do, but not a bad effort for Day Three!

Who needs Constance Spry when Auntie is about ..

She's spattered her fairy dust on my 26 year-old magnolia too. Where yesterday there were only little buds, today ...

My home made rose is milimetering upwards

While the old favourites (pruned by Wendy) show promise of merry sunshine

Next door's bees make regular raids on the fruit trees' blossom

All in all, Gerolstein is very lovely 'when birds do sing, hey ring-a-ding-ding' ..

And there's plenty more to come .. the chestnut and walnut trees, the pink hawthorne bush, the lush green willows, gums and native trees ... the tropicannas and the gladioli, the pansies and the wisteria ... and my mystery yellow-and-white bush which soon won't be a mystery any more, for it has the tiniest buds coming ..

And meanwhile Saltwater Creek, which was drowning us out a short while ago, has descended to its heretofore level. 'Thou hast made thy bed and thou shallt lie in it'. But it is still rushing ... the whitebait should be good this year ..

Ah, well. Better go out and pull a barrowful o' weeds ... even spring has its disadvantages!
