He was well known on the stage as Dan Thomas, a pantomime dame. He learned his trade on the East End stages at the turn of the century and then toured the country until 1913 when he relocated to South Africa following two successful tours there in 1911 and 1912. He too subsequently moved to Australia where he died in 1965.
